IL MOLINETTO - Landscape

Liguria's mountain landscape is too beautiful to just lie on the beach in the sun.

There are plenty of opportunities for excursions: either into the mountains to discover the picturesque villages that cling to the mountain like swallows' nests (Valloria with its painted doors!) and perhaps further up into the high mountains of the Ligurian Maritime Alps.

Or along the sea, towards Genoa, to Diano Marina (beautiful sandy beach), to Cervo (summer concerts in front of the church), with picturesque alleys and a church square with sea view, to the stalactite caves of Toirano near Ceriale, to Albenga and Alassio, possibly to Genoa (on the motorway a good hour).

Or west to San Remo (above San Remo the artists' village of Bussana Vecchia, abandoned by its inhabitants after an earthquake and now revived by artists), across the border to the beautiful French town of Menton, to the exotic Hanbury Gardens and possibly on to Nice and Provence...

Only 4 km down the valley is a well-run horse-riding farm (Molino Martino) with lessons for children and adults, as well as rides in the surrounding area.

Or: "Whalewatching": 2 times a day with a boat of marine biologists from Oneglia (we saw 20 m long fin whales!).

If you love nature, you won't be bored here.
