Content:

Whilst swimming in the sea in front of his house in Marinella, Inspector Montalbano collides with a corpse. The dead man is just one of many nameless people that the sea washes up on the Sicilian coast. A wave of illegal immigrants, set adrift on boats at night by gangs of smugglers, is flooding the island. When Montalbano tries to help a refugee child, the consequences are unexpected.
