They met in 1928 and soon became one of the most famous couples of the 20th century: Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre. Their way of living together was seen by many as an alternative to the combat zone of bourgeois marriage. The Parisian intellectual duo Sartre and de Beauvoir made their relationship and their lives part of their work. The great freedoms they allowed each other fascinated many. The depth of their bond is much more difficult to describe. The documentary radio play reconstructs scenes of this love from diaries, letters and interviews.
