To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Meister company, which has turned from soap production to the more lucrative poisonous gases, Hebbel's drama "Die Nibelungen" is to be performed. The roles are divided between the Meister family and the management. There is a Franconian counterpart for every Hebbel figure, and the closer the premiere gets, the more the theatre of the stage mixes with that of life: company boss Meister wants to get rid of his notoriously unfaithful wife so that he can marry his mistress. Mrs. Meister reacts to this intrigue in an appropriately unscrupulous way...

Remarks: In Franconian dialect.
