The play begins with the Grimm's fairytale Hans, who - enviably free of any material ties - 'has nothing, but can do everything, and no one can fool him'. (Trolls). But there are other lucky characters in this play. There is a Hans in the big city - an urban wanderer, a flâneur of our time, free to go wherever he wants. Sometimes you see him at the underground, sometimes in a crowd on a pavement, in a railway station or just changing sides of the street - he can never be caught. And finally, an Indian scientist, a pianist, a European swimming champion and a Nobel Prize winner find their very own answer to the question of happiness.
