Those filthy sacks, just opened up the wall on which they dreamed themselves sore and dead. They put Billi away for that. Billi, a former top athlete in the former GDR, returns to freedom after thirteen years of psychiatric isolation. After the fall of the Wall, the doors of the 'house with the crooked walls' have also opened for him. The small group of dignitaries, who would also like to blow away the shadows of the past with the off-key sounds of a brass band at Billi's reception, look embarrassed. They are all dirty. But Billi wants to know more precisely who wove the threads thirteen years ago in which he became entangled as an alleged fugitive from the Republic.
