Those filthy bastards, just opened up the wall they were dreaming themselves to death on. That's why they put Billi away. Billi, a former top athlete in the former GDR, returns to freedom after thirteen years of psychiatric isolation. After the fall of the Wall, the doors of the 'house with the crooked walls' have also opened for him. The small group of dignitaries, who would also like to blow away the shadows of the past with the off-key sounds of a brass band at Billi's reception, appear to have been taken aback. They are all dirty. But Billi wants to find out more about who tied the strings thirteen years ago in which he became entangled as an alleged fugitive from the republic.
